You can work backward from where you want to be to where you are and create a path to get there.<\/p>\n So where should you start? Figure out what motivates you to write lyrics. Is that in line with how you want people to remember you? If not, what can you change to line the two up? Continue working through the following question: What impact do you want your lyrics to have? Do the same for every album and every song. Before you start writing an album, document why you’re writing it. Before you start writing a song, write your why. Keep that in front of you.
